Born in Macao, Chiang Wai Lan has been engaged in visual art creation, visual art education, teacher training, and curriculum research in Macau for many years. As of 2022, she is a doctoral student in education at East China Normal University. In 2016, she graduated from the University of the Arts London with a master's degree in visual arts. In 2004, she graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, Taiwan Normal University College of Art. During her studies in the UK, she majored in illustration. Her creations integrate elements of Pop Surrealism, exploring and expressing the delicate emotions of life in the logic of illusion and reality. She produces work in multiple formats including drawing and painting, printmaking, ceramic sculpture, and experimental animation.
Lan is currently the president of the Macau Visual Arts Teachers Association, the vice president of the Art for All Society, the vice director of the Macau Youth Art Association, the director of The Youth Association of The Chinese Educators Association of Macau and is part of the Chinese Ministry of Educations' National Training Program for top teachers and administrators.
